New York Methodist has earned during the 125 years that it has served the community. New York Methodist Hospital goes back to the 1880s, when the Rev. James Monroe Buckley, having lost a dear friend in a tragic accident, persuaded the Methodist Church to build a hospital in Brooklyn. Itprovides medical services. It also provides inpatient and outpatient services and offers activities to the various agencies, organizations, schools, senior citizens centers, and individuals in Brooklyn. It is headquartered in Brooklyn, NY.
