QPC Lasers Inc. designs and manufactures high brightness semiconductor lasers for consumer electronics, defense, medical and industrial applications. It had developed multiple technology platforms, with eight issued patents and eight patents pending. Its products include high brightness diode lasers used for 'pumping' or energizing large solid-state or fiber lasers, as well as diode lasers that may be used directly for various defense, medical, consumer electronic and industrial applications. In 2007, approximately 52% of the company's revenues were derived from contracts with various agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense and from sales of product to certain defense contractors.
