Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Peterson was a legal intern at the Iowa Office of the State Public Defender.
He previously taught French as an adjunct professor at the University of Northern Iowa and as a graduate instructor at the University of Iowa.
Mr. Peterson obtained his law degree, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law (J.D., 2007), where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review, the International Law Society, and the Iowa Campaign for Human Rights.
Mr. Peterson is fluent in French and holds degrees in French literature, including his doctor of philosophy from the University of Iowa (Ph.D., 2003), his master's from the University of Florida (M.A., 1995) and his bachelor's degree from New College of Florida (B.A., 1993).
