His primary focus has been in researching, developing and implementing trading strategies and programs based on a trend-timing philosophy.
He was the partner of the late Richard D.
Donchian, one of the first advocates of the diversified trend-following approach to managed futures.
He is the owner of Spiriterra Vineyards in Napa Valley.
Mr. Dean graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1966 with a B.
S.
degree in Industrial Engineering and earned a MBA from Harvard University in 1968.
