Robert J. Dunn

Mr. Robert J.
Dunn is Executive Chairman at Pacific Monument Acquisition Corp.
and Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Monument Capital Group LLC.
He is on the Board of Directors at Persistent Sentinel LLC.
Prior to co-founding Monument Capital Group in 2007, Mr. Dunn was a member of the Buyout team at The Carlyle Group, a Washington, D.C.
based private equity firm.
He joined Carlyle in 1994, when the firm was a $100 million buyout fund, and upon his departure at the end of 2007 the firm had approximately $70 billion of committed capital.
During his tenure, he held a number of roles within the firm and was active in Carlyle’s international transaction activities in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey and Russia.
From 1994 to 2001, he managed Carlyle’s Middle East office based in Saudi Arabia, where he handled the firm’s investment activities as well as the oversight of portfolio companies in the region.
Additionally, Mr. Dunn managed the Saudi Arabian Economic Offset Program, a partnership with the SaudiMinistry of Defense and Aviation where he managed a number of joint-ventures that were designed to help Carlyle portfolio companies’ better address the defense and security needs of the region.
In 2003, he was appointed Chairman of Carlyle’s portfolio company operating in 69 regions of Russia, a position he held until arranging the company’s sale to a major European Purchaser (Alliance Unichem) in 2006.
The company had in excess of 2000 employees and under Mr. Dunn’s 3 year leadership increased its sales from approximately $70 million to in excess of $200 million.
Mr. Dunn received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College (Utah).
