Doha Film Institute operates as an independent, not-for-profit cultural organization. It supports the growth of the local film community through cultivating film appreciation, enhancing industry knowledge and contributing towards the development of the industries in Qatar. The Institute’s platforms include funding and production of local, regional and international films; skills-sharing and mentorship programs; and film screenings. The company was founded by Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in 2010 and is headquartered in Doha, Qatar.
