Tom Risley is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. He was appointed Chairman in February 2005 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2002.
Prior to being named President and Chief Executive Officer, he was Vought’s Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
He has had overall responsibility for day-to-day operations of Vought since it was acquired by The Carlyle Group in July 2000.
He was named Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Senior Vice President when the company was formed from the commercial aerostructures segment of Northrop Grumman Corporation.
While part of Northrop Grumman, he was Vice President and Integrated Product Team Leader of Boeing Commercial Programs.
Assigned that role in September 1999, he was responsible for all aspects of Boeing commercial programs, including new business development.
Before that assignment, he was Vice President of Empennage and Control Surfaces Programs for Northrop Grumman’s Commercial Aircraft Division.
He led activities at the Dallas, Stuart and Milledgeville facilities in producing structures for Boeing’s 747, 757, 767 and 777 aircraft.
Formerly, he was Director of the Empennage Integrated Product Team, responsible for production on the Boeing 747, 757 and 767 programs and 747-600/500 empennage development.
He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
He serves on the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) board of governors and executive committee, the March of Dimes of North Texas executive board, and the North Texas Food Bank advisory board.
