Scopus employs a similar investment strategy amongst all of the Funds. The investment objective is to achieve superior returns through capital appreciation by investing, on a long and short basis, generally in common stocks and derivative instruments, including, without limitation, those linked to US equity markets (such as options, warrants, convertible securities, forward contracts, futures, swaps and ETFs). The firm’s investment approach involves a combination of extensive fundamental research and bottom-up financial analysis to identify investment opportunities that are materially undervalued (in the case of long positions) or overvalued (in the case of short positions).

Macellum is a fundamental, value-oriented manager that invests in undervalued companies that it believes can appreciate significantly in value as a result of a change in corporate strategy or improvements in operations, capital allocation or corporate governance. The firm generally focuses on sub two billion market capitalization companies where many inefficiencies exist and opportunities fall below most activists’ minimum investment size. They target companies with self-inflicted problems, that can be fixed, and good balance sheets for downside protection.
