Gordon Lee Archer

Gordon L.
Archer has been a Director of Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since September 2006.
He has been an Associate Dean of Research at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine since 2005 and Director of the School of Medicine's MD and PhD Program since 2003.
Dr. Archer has been Professor of Medicine and Microbiology and Immunology at Virginia Commonwealth University since 1985.
From 1992 to 2005, he was Chairman of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine.
Dr. Archer has held various faculty positions at Virginia Commonwealth University since 1975.
He began his career as an Instructor of Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School in 1974.
He was Chairman of the National Institutes of Health Study Section on Bacteriology and Mycology and the NIH Study Section on Drug Discovery and Mechanisms of Resistance to Antimicrobials.
Dr. Archer was a Member of the Food and Drug Administration's Antiinfective Advisory Board.
Currently, he is a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Micuron Pharmaceuticals.
He received a BA degree in Pre-med and German from Washington and Lee University in Virginia and an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
