Stephen Pettyfer

Mr. Stephen Pettyfer is Head of MENA Equity Research at Merrill Lynch International, Inc. (UAE) He joined Merrill Lynch in 1995 when the firm acquired Smith New Court, a U.K based securities firm, where he had been a member of its start up Emerging European team as the Poland country analyst since 1993.
As a Central European regional analyst he was initially based in Warsaw and then in Prague, before relocating to the U.K in 1994.
This was a role he undertook until 2000, when he moved from operating as a country specialist to covering the EEMEA telecom sector.
In early 2008 he moved to Dubai to head MENA research, adding responsibility for MENA strategy to coverage of MENA telecoms.
Mr. Pettyfer has consistently achieved high ranking in external research ranking including a first place in Institutional Investor in MENA strategy and second place in EEMEA telecoms in 2011.
