Mr. Sullivan currently serves as Chairman of RPM International, Inc. In 1961, after spending two years as Communications Officer on the USS Braine (DD630) in the western Pacific, he joined Republic Powdered Metals as a Divisional Sales Manager.
In 1971 he became Chairman and CEO of the newly formed RPM Inc., a holding company for consumer and industrial businesses in the coatings industry.
During his tenure as CEO for RPM (1971-2002), the company experienced growth from $11 million to $2 billion.
In addition to RPM International's Board, Mr. Sullivan serves on the publicly owned boards of Kaydon Corporation, Agilysys, Inc. and Huffy Corporation.
Current civic activities include Board of Trustees of Urban Community School and City Year of Cleveland.
In the past he has served on the board of trustees of Culver Academies, Malachi House and May Dugan Multi-Service Center.
Mr. Sullivan also served as the chairman of the National Paint & Coatings Association where he was the 2003 recipient of the George Baugh Heckel award, the industry's highest tribute.
Mr. Sullivan received his B.S.
degree in Business Administration from Miami University (Ohio).
