Motashar Almurshed

Mr. Motashar Almurshed is a Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer & Country Executive at Merrill Lynch KSA Co. He has over 30 years of experience in financial services with leading financial institutions in Saudi Arabia including the HSBC Group / Saudi British Bank, the National Commercial Bank (one of the largest banks in the Middle East) and Alinma Bank (one of the largest Islamic Banks in KSA).
Over his 30 years, he has had an extensive array of experience leading teams in Treasury, Capital Markets/SUKUK and Corporate Finance.
He has been a member of the Saudi Economics Society for the past Twelve years and has participated in innumerable economic researches, seminars and forums related to the financial markets.
Prior to that, Mr. Almurshed was as CEO of Alinma Investment (the Investment Banking subsidiary of Alinma Bank) where he was primarily responsible for establishing the investment bank and drawing up its strategic blueprint.
He has a Masters Degree in International Business Administration from the UK.
