Paul Nielsen

Paul D.
Nielsen is currently the Chief Executive Officer & Director at the Software Engineering Institute.
He is also a Director at AFCEA International, the Hertz Foundation, and The Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers, Inc. Additionally, he is a Member of the National Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
He serves as a Member-Governors Board at the Consortium For It Software Quality.
In the past, Dr. Nielsen worked as an Independent Director at PAR Technology Corp.
from 2011 to 2012.
He also held positions as a Principal at the Air Force Research Laboratory (Ohio) and as a Major General in the US Air Force.
Dr. Nielsen completed his graduate and doctorate degrees at the University of California, Davis.
He obtained his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy and an MBA from The University of New Mexico.
