Emil Salim

Emil Salim is currently the Vice Chairman of the National Planning Council.
He is also a Professor at the University of Indonesia.
Additionally, he serves as a Trustee for The Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation, a Member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, and a Member of the Brundtland Commission.
Dr. Salim previously held positions as the Deputy Chairman of the National Development Planning Agency, the Indonesia Ministry of Communication & Information, the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism, and the Indonesia Ministry of Transportation.
He also served as the Chairman of the Komite Ekonomi Nasional and as a Director for the Government of Indonesia.
Furthermore, he was a Member of the Institut Teknologi Bandung, the Indonesian Economists Association, the Aceh-Nias Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Agency, and the Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia.
He also held the position of Vice President Commissioner at PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk.
Dr. Salim obtained a doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1964 and an undergraduate degree from the University of Indonesia in 1959.
