David Berge

Mr. David Berge is Founder, President & Managing Partner at Underdog Ventures LLC and an Advisor at Renewal Partners.
Prior to his role at Underdog Ventures, Mr. Berge was the Director of Vermont National Bank’s Socially Responsible Banking Fund, which he grew from $38 million to $203 million U.S.
in targeted flexible loans, in the areas of sustainable agriculture, conservation and the environment, affordable housing, education, and socially responsible businesses.
He also worked as the Senior Loan Officer at the Institute for Community Economics, a community loan fund providing financial and technical assistance to high impact social enterprises, non-profits and sustainable businesses.
Mr. Berge is a former board and Chair of the Social Investment Forum, the trade association for institutions and professionals involved in the $2.3 trillion socially and environmentally responsible investment industry in the United States.
He is the former Chairman of the Social Investment Forum Foundation.
He is a former board member and current member of the Social Venture Network.
He is an advisory board member of Altrushare Securities, LLC.
He is a former Advisory Board member of the Boston Federal Reserve’s Community Development Advisory Board, the Cooperative Fund of New England Advisory Board, the Equity Trust Advisory Board and the Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility Board of Directors.
He is a member of Investors Circle, a membership group of 155 angel investors, professional venture capitalists, foundations, family offices and others who are using private capital to promote the transition to a sustainable economy.
